We live for our music and they can see it, hear it and feel it.
Since we became "Side by Side", we've forged a reputation for
Generosity, Integrity, Value, Excellence
In concert with our other work, we are currently undertaking to regularly visit as many Seniors' Clubs, Retirement Villages, Nursing Homes & Hostels as possible. Though they may have limited funds with which to pay entertainers, we believe that as valued members of our community, their residents are always entitled to the best in entertainment, and that is what we strive to produce.
Many places we visit care for residents with various types of dementia. So we create shows featuring our best and brightest costumes together with the very best of favorite songs from their younger days. The effect on these residents is often profound and deeply moving.
For those in our audiences who are forgetting how to speak the English language and are reverting to their mother tongues, we produce lush versions of classic songs from their native lands, and we sing them in their original languages. So far, we sing in eighteen different languages, aside from English.
As we work with children living with disabilities, we are giving them an opportunity to perform in the public eye with us. Not only do they get to learn confidence and belief in themselves, but it has also opened a door to a career for each one. It also serves as an education to the general public, in witnessing for themselves that a person who lives with a disability is capable of achieving great things!
We have also found that music takes the disability away, as while they are performing, they have no disability. If you have a child who has a disability, and would like to learn to sing, or play keyboard, please contact us.
Our personal tastes in music embrace an array of flavours: from classical to jazz, country to pop, easy-listening to world, olde-tyme through to the present day. So our shows, in turn, reflect our eclectic tastes, all these different styles presented side by side, even engaging in a little cultural exchange. It should not come as a surprise to hear us occasionally sing a jazz song in a Hawaiian style, or a pop song as though it were a classical piece.
Our favorite is a completely original semi-classical treatment of ABBA's "Andante Andante", which has since become a deeply-loved on-stage hit with audiences everywhere.
As our shows are tailored to your needs, we would be delighted to answer any questions and/or provide further details.
